haha - it'd have been funny if i had my e39 there. its a 530d, but it has m5 wheels like whats on your car, it also has the gloss black trim...

i was looking at this forum and was like.. this is weird..why do i think ive seen this car before..then the penny dropped.

I have some connections e39 wise.. welcome to PM me if u need anything.
im on my 2nd e39 now. previous one i had for almost 5yrs.

Awesome ride. enjoy!

Had a great parade lap at the BMW festival today.

Unfortunately the rest of the event was disappointing compared to previous years.

Update #5 - (New) Mirror

A few short weeks and a package was at my doorstep this evening.

$99 for the repair and $45 for return shipping. Shipping there was R275 via airmail so for less than R2k I have a basically brand new mirror. (BMW wants R6k for a new one)

This was my temp mirror

Needless to say, I rushed out and installed the mirror straight away. I will add a pic of the new mirror installed during the day sometime.

Mirror fix definitely on my to do list after I finish the anti rattle kit

I would do it sooner rather than later. The liquid has a tendency to leak out of the housing and eat everything below it because it is highly corrosive. I remember a member saying it happened on his M3 and he had to replace a whole host of trim, gearshift boot and knob.

At least take it out of the car and use a temporary mirror.

Awesome :praise:

Apparently a common problem on the e39 M5.

Now for some suspension goodies

Update #7 - Some new shoes

So, last weekend it was time to pull the trigger on some new tires. As you will see in a couple pics, I really needed them.

Getting home after fitment I discovered that the fronts were the wrong profile. The tire shop sorted this out for me saying it was a supplier error.

Seems like reasonable wear. What replacement tyres did you get?

I went with the Falken FK453.
Good choice, i've fitted the same tires on my E39 M5 and im really enjoying them, did u use the stock rear tire size? i used a size bigger in 285

I was thinking of going to 285 but I just went stock in the end.
