2001 540i

Hi Fanatics

I was browsing through Autotrader and came across a 2001 540i with153k on the clock. Besides things to look out for as listed on the registry are there any major issues with these cars? Any comments will be highly appreciated. I really like the shape of these cars and would like some more insight before taking on what could be more than I can handle. Thanks

Kenneth they are really good cars.
Things that will require changing is the auto box oil cooler roughly R5k and be mindfull that these cars drop their reverse gear as it is a weakness in the box.
A ZF overhaul is roughly R30k.

Also chain guides and tensioner rails will require attention just about now roughly R5k for parts and another 6-7k for labour
