Hi Guys

My neighbour visited me on Sunday so we decided to take some random pics. Purely because more than one of any model together, always makes for a perfect photo opportunity. Similar to what Jeff has said in another thread.

And here she is on her own, looking mighty fine...taken on Saturday evening after a 3 hour wash.

Thanks, this is a difficult question only because I don't really take notice, I must actually get into the habit of checking. The car is garaged the whole week and is only used on weekends.

Looks awesome, even one M5 is enough... two is even better :praise:
Maybe we should have all 4 together

I can't stop noticing that there are quite a few e39 m5's but not that much e60 m5's. Is it because of the crappy and unreliable e60 smg gearbox (almost bought an e60 m5 out of motor plan but the price on the parts on the gearbox is insane)?
Hope this new m5 will be better than the e60 on reliability as I would like to own an m5 in my lifetime.

Your cars look stunning!!!

If only that was possible? you're in CT and I'm in JHB.....I am planning to get a few buddies with E39 M5's together for a photoshoot, we are about 6 of us.

Thanks 'NoFear'. There are plenty E60's around and I have a mechanic friend that worked on one last week sorting out a "GEARBOX" issue. Not sure if it is a common problem though? because I do have friends driving E60's without any complaints and they are very happy?

Thanks.

The review in the Aug 2005 issue that tested the m5 experienced 2 failures with the smg gearbox and a lot of internet sites made it look like a common problem and the clutch on that specific vehicle was changed on 35k km so I was a bit skeptical.

I was wondering why you don't see that many of them on the roads anymore, could this possibly be the reason?
