Ive been a BMW owner now for 2+ months, even though havent been driving it since 14 December 2012 reason as per my mechanic and evidence before me/my research I hit a bearing knock.(made me wish i stayed honda)

Ive also been told that it seems that the vehicle had been purchased that way. Its just that no engine light came on or any other warnings on the dash notified me. However can recall that when accelerating or just giving a little foot to accelerater the rev would would right over, also a miss and a minor sound every now an then from the engine that would last for less than a minute.

Anyways my car is scheduled to reurnt end of this week.

I highly doubt that any car's sensors can detect a bearing knock..

Which car is this and what is the mileage? Did you ever check the history before purchasing?

Welcome & sorry. Next time any performance vehicle with that miliage - check its history and then buy something else.

Unless your plan is to do something else with the vehicle.

:fencelook: sorry bud, hope your experience change for the better... BMW is an awesome brand, but like with all manufacturers there can be a few 'challenges'...

Thats not good. I believe that people selling you a car like that knowing of the problem will get punnished in the end in some way or other

thanks gents, is the BMW 318i (e46) with an m43 motor in it a sports car or a luxury car

welcome bud. I dont think you should hate the brand now and wish you stayed with Honda, its not the brand, but more a case of someone selling you a lemon. Did you buy it through a dealer?

Bought it privately.

The car is back, arrived yesterday and already took it to 160km/h! replaced the entire sub done filters and pump as well. All thats left to do is the lifters.

Now im almost happy only thing that I miss is reaching top speeds with a scream, BM is quiet
