Just to clarify:
The loose connection on the battery was due to a new battery being replaced by the dealers two months back and was not tightened properly.
The 1M does not have a battery in the remote and the remote unit is sealed and cannot be opened. If it is faulty, you need to get a new one from the dealer and it then needs to be reprogrammed.
There is an emergency pull tab in the boot that glows in the dark but you have to be in the boot to operate it. It is used in case you ever get locked in the boot for whatever reason.
There is no way of getting into the boot unless you connect a wire to the fuse box somewhere...as was done by the technician who came out. Do not do this if you don’t know what you are doing as there is a possibility of blowing the ECU.
There is no key fitting in or under the boot lid like on the 135 or other models.
All the removable key that is inside the plastic remote does is open the drivers door. Then you can open the bonnet and that’s it, not even the passenger door can be opened without power.
The 1M does not have fold down rear seats and they are bolted from inside the boot, however, the back bottom seat does come out but that makes no difference at all.
Even though I was getting 13.5 volts on the pins inside the engine bay as per pictures attached, it made no difference what I connected to it or tried to power it up with. The battery was fully charged and still there was no power to any part of the car except the two points mentioned.
Advice to you......connect a string from the emergency pull tag as found in the boot and hide it under the rear seat. This part of the seat, as mentioned above, can be lifted or removed. At least you will be able to open the boot to get to the battery.
Another piece of advice: keep the tow hook in the car and not in the boot because one day when there is no power you will need to tow it into the garage. I tried to push start it and the car ended up in front of my neighbors driveway. I had to borrow a tow hook from another neighbor to get the car back into my house.
All sorted now...........
