Where's the dual zone climate control? At this kinda price it should be standard. :nonono:

I agree with you it is stupid. its a R6k extra it would be easy for them to hide it in the price.

I had no choice on the extras.... Mine has bluetooth, Hifi-sound and PDC..

Having siad that... I havent once missed the duel climate control while driving it.....:inlove:

Hi Paul. Just wanted to find out, did you have a car on order previously? I think they have mostly these identically spec'ed (BT, PDC, HiFi sound) cars, which they are selling first, and towards the end of the year they going to be pulling in the high end models.

They absorbed the R8k xenon option with washers and the BMW Professional radio into the price, why couldn't they also add the dual zone climate control? I think, and no offense but that standard air-con controls are fugly :sorry: I had it in my 120d and didn't like it. And they should have also added the satin chrome "shadow-line" trimming too. It would have looked awesome on your car - not that I'm saying it doesn't already - I'm just saying, these small things add up to make the car look even better. Well thats my personal opinion, you guys can start slamming my comment now.

edit: Oh, i forgot to add my congratulations on your purchase. I know you will enjoy every second of driving...those seat are sooo soft hmmm....

I ordered mine back in october... the air-con control is fugly... at least the outside of the car isnt.:=): I originally wanted shadowline but as soon as I got my car i actually am very happy with how the chrome looks.

i agree totally, the exterior more than makes up for the interior. somehow you can overlook the lack of the shadowline trim. Well, at least you are one of the few lucky people who got one. A little birdie told me there are now 64 destined for SA and some non-BMW dealers who got their hands on one are asking for a R100,000 premium on the car. R100,000! Insane!!!

Congrats Paul!
Dont see other than guy's that pre ordered the car with a type of spec that sell's easy in order to sell for premium which by the way i think they are a bunch of nobs as they take cars away from fanatical potential 1M owners wanting to actually drive the car as to why there are guy's sitting with various levels of spec car they did not choose and a third A Hole.:sorry:

My choice was made easy. When i sit in my wagon i want tunes and do not want to get lost with a Tom Tom strapped to my R600K wagon. So mine was ordered with Harman Kardon sound which is either standard or this option and navigation which forces you to take the climate control because of the control interface which appears on the screen which i would have taken anyways cos it does look a bit kak standard.

One thing that bothers me is the amount of 1M owners totalling them within weeks of delivery. Anyone that went on a few advanced BMW courses would have seen the video of the M heritage and that it was almost spoilt by the E36 M's and of how many were being totalled in the first year, i think it was like 80% and the reason for the advanced driving program world wide that was initiated. My point is that if you got one or getting one look after them the value can only rise on top of what it will anyways.

Track it as there are run off area's and no lamp poles or straddling marshals!:joy:

Limited Profile
I know that we read it all over the place. But I still don't believe that the 1M will be limited. They will def produce more or else make minor changes increase the price a bit possibly add DCT option & might even rename it or make a "real" M1. The next M3 will be over 1Bar look at stat's & BMW can easily predict their sales. They have to enter the market with a smaller varient. You will see more weight reduction will go into it & they will even add M-like seats. Why didn't BMW number them like the CSL if it was such a big deal. Z35is has the same engine. BMW are also talking about X3M & X4M. They going nuts. M Engines are going to become like Audi/VW engines soon...Sorry to say this. If you have a well speced E92 V8 keep it, this is one of the last real M's out there.

I think the allocation is bull crap. To be honest, I was on the waiting list for one from May last year. I spec'ed my car around January this year. I was told my car will arrive in September. I get a call a few months ago, and they told me my dealerships allocation has come through early (from September to July) but they had no choice in what is being allocated to them.

I ordered a VOM, with HK sound, prof nav, dual zone cc, xenon light (were an option at the time of speccing the car), satin chrome trimming and few other options. I was so chuffed that the one car I wanted was available in my favorite colour - Orange. Honestly I was over the moon for that fact alone, but it was crushed when they said my allocation is black.

Its the very same spec as Paul's but in sapphire black metallic. I am picking it up either tomorrow or on Wednesday this week. I don't like the colour i was allocated. And at the time I could do nothing to change the my allocation - despite knowing people . We discovered at some earlier point that my allocation had not gone into production yet and so we tried to change the colour. BMW didn't budge.

Anyway the car arrived at the dealership last week, and I had to really force myself to like it. But I cant help feeling i am buying someone's scraps. :(

I even went to the extent of getting quotes for respraying the car to VOM (R30000) and retro-fitting all the gizmo's i wanted (R40K aprox.). Its working out to too much. Looks like i am stuck with this car...I am sure i will be eating my words when i drive it off the floor. But yeah, that my story...

Who did you speak to about retro fitting the items?? I would do that with a auto aircon no problems--- but its more than just a front panel. there are different pipes etc so it seams like alot of work and cost. If you really could get all the items for 40k that seams cheap. Adding nav chances so many things. even the buttons on the stearing wheel are different let alone the center console...

Prices are from the BMW parts department. That excludes the labor.
