The first 318i Motorsport was launched in 1995 in limited numbers. That model had leather/ cloth combination seats, with the big double wing on the boot. Car was riding on 17" Stealth-lookalike rims. Basically a 318i, but with the M front bumper and rear diffuser, 17" wheels, and slightly lower and stiffer suspension.

In 1996/7 they changed it to the Motorsport 2, after the launch of the 318is. This car had leather upholstery and different 17" rims. Again in limited numbers.

The Motorsport cars were built to commemorate the success of these racecars in that season. I think BP was the main sponsor. I have a scale model at home that we received with our car back in 1995.
