Was wondering what is the spec for this car, re kw's and torque? What was the standard 220 and what is the AMG spec?

From my understanding the AMG spec for this model is only aesthetics and power is the same as the standard C220 at 110kw and 210Nm.

Car is definitely built for cruising as it’s quite sluggish to pick up speed but then goes very well once you like at 80km/h.
I bought all the parts for a service and hopefully will be a tad bit more responsive once the service is done.

Love these cars! Just think the rear wheel needs like a 20mm spacer to fill the arches :skit:

Depends.

Some AMG's were really low. My god mother had a E34 AMG and that thing was so low if you loaded the boot and people in it it would scrape over everything, in stark contrast to my mums 300E that would go offroad when she did not feel like dealing with roadblocks. My E36 was almost indistinguishable from her latter E320 other than exhaust and wheels.

Beautiful, Have fond memories of these. My uncle used to work for Merc in the EC and he would drive it up to Joburg sometimes.

He would get angry if we call it green because it wasn't green... it was MALEKITE

First car I was ever in to go over 200kph

So gave the old girl a service yesterday.
Changed air, oil and fuel filters, new spark plugs and some fresh Shell Helix oil.

While my mate was doing the service I asked him to do a check on the suspension. Feedback is that all mountings, shocks, etc seem to be in decent condition. Looks like this car was well taken care off.

She drives even better now.
Now that I know she is mechanically healthy, will start with some of the other bits. Wheels are first up on my list, then interior and lastly the bodywork.

Lovely car!

Enjoy the restoration.

Maybe oneday a possible 3.0 Engine could be on the cards. And make it a C300 AMG!

well if you wanted to do a swop which i think the OP wont do it would be the C230K motor or C280 engine i guess.

That blue one does look neat as well

Yes you would be right. Sorry i was thinking about the previous shape W124 300e Engines(which would be the 3.0)

The C280 would be a good swop.

I think the car is in such good condition. An era correct motor would do it justice.

I assume the 3.6 motor would be very difficult locally, if not available at all from the engine importers.

GoodLuck!

Hey all

Have the car for about 6 months now and still enjoying cruising around with it.
Did some maintenance in terms for replacing some seals and new battery and she still runs amazingly well.

Use it mostly in weekends but also the odd commute to work.

So now starts with some of the exterior restoration.

Dropped it off this morning for refurbishment of the wheels. I’m sure the “new” wheels will detract from some of the shoddy paint in places.
Once my parking is sorted (you wait for ever for plans to be approved), then will do a respray to freshen it a bit.
