18 to 19 upgrade feedback

Just thought I'd post some feedback after changing from 18s to 19s, for those who are possibly thinking of upgrading. Did my daily trip to work and back today on roads that I know fairly well wrt bumps, road imperfections, etc.

Previous Tyres: 18" Michelin Pilot Sport Runflats (225/40/18 & 255/35/18)
New Tyres: 19" Toyo T1 Sport (235/35/19 & 265/30/19)

After fitting the tyres, I was very worried about the ride quality as the 19s have very little sidewall height. However, I can confirm that the ride is noticeably softer/smoother after the change, even though I went from 18s to 19s. I can only imagine what an improvement normal 18" tyres would be over runflats.

NB: Not going to start another "run-flat is cr@p" discussion. Just posting my impressions after the change, for those interested and worried about ride quality.

My 20's on a budget tyre which runs a 400 treadwear as opposed to the Bridgestone's 140 felt better.

Runflat is kak  Only problem is finding runflat sizes in non runflat tyres in 19"s . Like 255/30/19s only come in runflats :( ?

Intention was not to start a RFT debate again. I agree that RFTS do compromise comfort for safety to an extent. However, that said, it also creates a false sense of security too. For example, if you do hit something substantial enough to rupture your sidewall, the reality is that you still don't have a spare...

I worked with a guy that had to wait a week for stock on a RFT tyre. Car stood with his run flat tyre.

If I am in a dangerous spot, I will continue to drive slow even if I damage tyre or possibly wheel.
