Hi Guys

On a E46 what size rims will your'll reccomend.

Considering im a sales rep and do about + - 4000km a month.

I want the 18" csl reps but in Jhb it seems like im looking for a needle in a hay stack and now forced to consider the 19" Csl's

Whats the ride like with the 19's on a 35 profile tyre?

And will the 19's put alot of strain on the suspension as the car came originally wih 17's

Hey!

Well I have a E46 318i with 18" wheels and a 40 profile and these ride pretty hard already so I would suspect that the 19" wheels with a 35 profile would be pretty bumpy.

The other problem that you will also have is to avoid potholes like a madman since the rims bend pretty easy when riding on a 40 or 35 profile. I have had to repair my wheels twice and have only had them for about two years, both of the potholes i went through were in johburg.

So based on this i would not go bigger then a 18" wheel and also if you do +-4000km a month which tyres would you buy since average tyres +-R1500 each and really good ones (Michelin Pilot Sport, Bridgestone Potenza) go for around R3000+ a tyre.

Not sure if the big wheels put extra strain on the suspension, never really thought about it so would be interesting if someone knows.

But yeah one thing is for sure: 18" wheels on E46 ftw!:)
