135i Mp extension and issues on high milage

Hi
I have been researching about the 135i for a while now and would like to know :
1) what would be the price to extend motorplan on a 2009 model?
2) are there any common issues on the 2009 models?
3) are these cars still good at milage above 80,000km?

Any help will be appreciated as I am seriously contemplating getting one very soon.
Thanks

Do you have the auto or manual ? what are you going to do when the MP expires extend or sell?

Good question - will cross that bridge when I get to it, as I don't know the answer myself.

Probably trade it in for a similar model with a longer MP. BMW will then extend the MP on the traded in car for the next buyer.

Any mods on your vehicle is it a manual or auto? have you changed from Run flats to normal tyres yet ?

I cannot wait to get mine i am just deciding between a 2008 full house or 2009 sunroof and xenons only, i am leaning towards the 2009.

Mods yes, manual N54.

Not sure on the extension details. I still have another year before I have to worry about MP. My 135i had full house, but most important to me were the Xenons. Not only for the improved lighting, but also because they give the front of the 135i a better look in my opinion.

I still have runflats. I like them and I like the peace of mind they give me. Don't fancy changing a tyre on the side of the road in SA. With a 135i you will be a sitting duck.

Sunroof was a waste for me. I hardly used it and when I did, the wind shudder was bad, so ended up closing it. Also not good for sunburn. Not sure what people use sunroofs for. Perhaps fans can enlighten me on this one? I can maybe understand it on a 4x4 in a game farm, but not a 135i.

I think you should go with the 2009 model too, as it will give you to 2014 on MP.

Great reply thanks Yes the 2009 is looking like the best option, now to save up for the JB4 and get it all in one go. Agree sunroof is a total waste unless you going for that roof spoiler look. Each to his own. I am interested to see how well the 2009 price will hold up in the next few months.

The JB4 is just a dream. Fairly easy to install and remove and it brings the 135i alive. All the best and dont forget to post some pics when you get it.

Will definetly do that, I am not the hands on type of person maybe i will look at getting it installed for me. dont want to break brackets or anything to that affect.

i have just seen the video on youtube about the JB4 and its operations via the MFS steering, looks simple enough to use at the same time uber cool.

I think those more hands on prefer a tune that they can remove themselves. If I need to get the tune out, I don't want to have to rely on anyone but myself. It takes me about 20min and its out. Flash tune, I have to drive to the tuner, wait for them to be ready, reflash to tuner stock and not factory stock as it was from BMW, and then repeat the entire process when I need to have it redone. All at a cost.

This one guy I know had to get his tune out quickly and the car couldn't be driven, so he took it out himself. I think both tunes serve their purpose, but its not for me.

I concur LOL always wanted to say that. It is true though if something happens to the car and you need to get it to BMW via roll back then it becomes a hassle to remove the Flash tune.

Anyone have ball park costing for Motorplan extension on a 2009 135i ?

If you buy an '09, you have cover til 2014, so you don't have to be concerned about years.
What's the mileage on the car?

I don't think you can extend until you're either in the final year, or at the 100k mark.

At that time, the cost will be depend on whether you're purchasing 1 year, or mileage, or both (PS. for time, you can only buy 1 year at a time)

FYi, a year with no mileage is in the 5k region (give or take)

Perfect thanks. The 09 has 60,000KM on the clock however if i can extend the time factor i will rather go for the 08 with bit more extras and less milage, dont shoot me here, i have also driven the Megane RS cup with software and downpipe its not that bad and within the same price range. decisions decisions.

dont shoot me either, but the megane is nice :sorry:

i agree the megane is unbelievably good!! i was going through the same dilemma before i bought my 135.. if im honest i still dont know if i made the right decision... i hate to say it but although standard the 135 is much quicker than the megane the megane feels faster and much more entertaining and precise to drive.. plus its really exclusive in comparison.
why did i get the 135 then? cause i had an R26 megane, also unbelievable entertaining, and renault after sale service was and is shocking as well as waiting periods of weeks not days for parts. plus depreciation on those things is second to none.. but i still want one!!!
top gear uk mag rates it as the best hatch ever, better than the focus RS, golf and scirocco R.. that says a lot!
