Thats the easy bit... i heared if you not careful, contineous movement of the DP's will wear out the turbo housing?

damn this is a good thread...keep it up guys...hopefully someone that has time on his hands can do a thread on all the tuning options available (in S.A.) for the 335/135 and the other twin turbo derivatives???? This would be great

Guys my first thread is rocking, this site is addictive, just got to work and came on. It seems if you do ecu, you must do downpipes. I know a dealer will ask him to over look it, see what he says. What are downpipes, can ob do it for me as well and how much does it cost? kw gain?

I have a manual 135i and off the line it spins quite a bit( probably taking off wrong), i cant imagine with all this new power what will happen, whats the best rev to take off, what is the best way?

Launching is all about clutch control! My technique is hard on clutch but good for g/box, diff, side shafts and you come out of line like a NASA test rocket!

What you need to do is make sure you launch above your peak torque line say for example peak torque at 3500rpm!
So now.. stage your car.. pull up hand brake, pick revs up to say 4000rpm keeping revs just there! then slowly release clutch to just before the the car starts to move.. when the 3 amber lights (Christmas tree) comes on, slowly slip release your clutch while you drop the handbrake keeping accelerator still.. when the car starts to gain momentum press on the accelerator in one smooth motion not slamming it! My foot is on the clutch almost the whole of 1st gear!

Remember on the track you have a 1foot roll out! so if you start my launching process when the 3 amber lights appear the light is green when you brake the laser ! My average reaction time is between 0.1 - 0.3s 60ft is between 1.8 - 2.0s flat!

This works for me and every one i know hope this is of any help!

I put 63 mils downpipes on my 135 and Stealth software. Made 261KW on the wheels. Car runs very well. With regards to motorplan, take out he sw, flash to stock, take out exhaust and send car in and :fencelook:

With my Dp I only gained 0.1sec over the 1/4 and 1km/h. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth the effort but as George stated it's in the spool up that counts. But at least I only had to change one down pipe. Traction on 135i are perfect when stock but modded it's bad mine is sideways with one touch on DTC on Map2. A stock 135i will beat an E46 M3 at the coast stock vs stock but over a km the M3 will catch up an probably pass. Suspension wise a stock 135i is a poor performer the first day my wife drove the car she complained even my Mini handled better. At 10 000km I fitted the Performace Suspension it's much better especially the back end has much more grip and no more body roll around the bends. I need to ride in a stock one again to really compare them now but a 135i really needs a LS and at least 0.5J wider rims front and rear. Enjoy your car it's fun when you infront of stock Gtr's:=):
Btw where is OB? Any contact details...

first u need to decide how much u want to spend on wheels.. The higher the budget, the more options there are

But u can fit up to 235.35 front and 245.30 rear, using 19x8 front and 19x9 rear with high offsets

Hi Revo
So I guess 265's at the rear would not fit without some fender work?
