Accelerating in 4th today from about 80 - 120km/h on freeway. When I got to around 100km/h the car engine stuttered and I lost power. Changed to 5th and all smooth again.

Ran a diagnostics tonight and I have the following under shadow code:

30F1

Looked it up and it says:

Glow ignition: cylinder X
EXPLANATION: Super Knock in cylinder X.
FIX: Excessive knock retard. Lower boost levels, or run higher octane.

Am on Map 3 on a JB3! Bad fuel?

As stated before Josh. You are running an outdated tune, with probably a very old software update on it as well. I also explained to you that the JB3 does NOT know what your car is doing...you could be running lean and the tune will still pull like a train...it is unable to read/detect the condition of your car...The code you got can be very dangerous and may or may not be exacerbated by the tune and yes fuel quality def is related to the code.

I strongly suggest to update to the JB4 canbus version including the CPS that comes with the tune, (or another tune of your liking) to prevent such unnecessary codes that could be potentially harmful to your car...

Thanks Twinz ... I will drop to Map1 until finance allows for JB4. Will get before end of year. Will email you with order.

I heeded your advice to drop to Map 3 as you said it shouldnt harm my car, but I understand nothing is exact especially with the JB3 being outdated. If you feel I should set to stock, I will once again go with your advice.

With a code like that i will not run the JB3 at all.
Always feel free to ask any questions or concerns you may have...not a problem at all. Our fuel at the coast should be decent enough to handle map 3 but one can never be sure what fuel we get. I am not trying to sell the JB4 to you, just trying to say that the autotune function coupled with CPS off-setting will adapt power based on available fuel octane and mods and keep the car safe at the same time.

No, I understand that and I don't for one moment think you are giving me a sales pitch. Terry emailed me back and recommended exactly what you did. My only concern is that JB4 masks problems like this, so one never knows about it when it does happen.

Can't understand why in Durban the JB3 would throw errors like that when it didnt in Jhb on the same map. Maybe plugs? Worried that something else is causing it.

Running stock atm, so all the M3's on the road are safe for now :fencelook:
