Hey guys,

I m looking at buying this car, it's an auto n54.
I am concerned bout the auto as I ve only owned manuals, is this the same box as in a e92 325 coupe ?
Does it have launch control or anything similar ?
The car does have a shudder at idle but the sale an said it will all be sorted before purchase , and does have another 50k on maintenance plan, is there any thing in particular that would cause this ?

Are there any things I should look out for with regards to the motor or suspension ?
Will get the full service history and go through that as well !

Thanks

Congrats on the potential purchase:

1. Check history, with BMW.
2. Autobox is brilliant and runs on different software to 325/330 etc.
3. The shudder is a concern. Could be many things. Must have this sorted before you sign any documents.
4. The service history from BMW will indicate if HPFP/injectors/coils/plugs have been replaced. There is/was a recall on this.

Auto is a different drive altogether, its faster on changes but less fun in my opinion. If it is not a DCT, it will not have a standard launch control (Doesn't mean you cant launch it ) Agree with Twinz, make sure MP sorts this out first.....and on current owners name (or else, you would have to first pay MP change of ownership otherwise). You can call any dealership and they should be able to email you a copy of the cars MP history. Also try and get the current owner to pay for change of MP ownership and also try to pay for the car after this has been done (maybe neg on a deposit, etc).....you kind of cover yourself should they not accept it on MP cos they do a check on certain elements (a 60 odd point check and could scan for sw, zorst, etc if need be)

Thanks for the info guys, definitely felt the box was much more reponsive! Will make sure that the problems are sorted before I sign for the car.

Should the HPFP/injectors/coils/plugs have been replaced ? And if they weren't should I insist that they are replaced ?

The HPFP should have been changed in a recall. Some of the injectors on earlier affected cars where changed too. The 2010 shouldnt need that.

The auto is a non issue in terms of launch capability. I have managed to pull a 3.8sec 0-100 with my modified car. There is actually too much power to want to launch mad.

Honestly can't go wrong with this car, I had a g6 gti and changed to an auto with paddles and you can't even begin to compare, these 135is are insanely addictive

The vibration may just be the flywheel. But nothing to tress about since plan will sort it out. Good luck!
