135 steering stiff

So I took delivery of my new 135 DCT last week, very happy with the cabby. The only thing that seems a bit weird to me is how stiff the steering is.
I have been to 2 dealerships and they all assure me that this is normal.
I don't mind it being tighter than normal cars but this is a little ridicules how tight it actually is. Feels like I don't have power steering at all. I don't have active steering, didn't think I would need it. Has anyone else experienced the same thing or is there actually something wrong with my electronic steering?

What did you drive before?

I have a Sorento and the PS on that SUV is softer than anything I've ever driven. Even my E46. Remember the BMW advertisement with the white mouse on the steering wheel. That's how soft the Sorento's PS is.
The BMW gives nicer feedback with a tighter wheel IMO.

Guess I will have to compare it with another 135 to see if its normal.

The steering wheel on my e90 sport pack is a bit heavy, i put it down to the suspension setup and 18s

Yes, i've had a brief drive in a 135i. I also noticed the steering to be stiffer than other BMW's, but I loved it.... Thats why it's a 135i...... So enjoy.....

Mines is exactly the same.
Compared to the S is very heavy.

That being said, initially i didnt like it.
but im used to it now and actually prefer it.

Well that is one of the minor complaints that I remember CAR had regarding the 1 Series in general, and even the E90s to a degree. Haven't driven a 1 Series but have heard that they do indeed have a heavy feeling steering, especially in low speed parking situations. That's the sacrifice for the precise and rewarding nature of these cars when driven as intended!

My E90 for example which has normal 17" boots on feels heavy to manoeuvre that our Isuzu DC Diesel bakkie! :shocked:

@SKYF - I am based in Centurion "Midstream Area". Bought the car from Hatfield Leo Haese, brand new 2011 135 DCT White Sport Pack.
@ Philip Foglar - Yeah at first it was weird because I was not used to it but now it feels sweet.

Only have 700km on the clock, Can't wait for 1200km to try the lc on the cabby :excited:

normal steering i think, andtyre pressure im not sure all i know it has thw 18's on.
