125i is a 3.0l, yes, and it sounds beautiful!

Go to a dealership and rev it up! you will hear. The 325i is more mellow and toned down to my liking (Comparing it to my 325i E46)

Although, the figures speak the truth in terms of performance. The 325i is still the mid-performance sports sedan it claims to be. IMO.

What I have noticed is that both cars have different performance figures and the 125 has slightly more torque and is substantially much quicker to a 100km/h! :dunno:

As far as I know, 323i and 325i are 2.5l motors (140kW and 160kW respectively). This is due to differences in the inlet manifold and different ECU.

And then the 330i is the 3l (190kW)

Or am I in the wrong.

Now this is a real head-scratcher:

125i specs

323i specs

325i specs

It does seem like the 325i came out with a 2.5L from 2005, but it seems it was changed from 2007 to a 3L.

The fact that the 323 and 325 have the same spec sheet is very strange indeed. Although I think the 323 had 2 doors while the 325 had 4?? :dunno:

This is all to confusing. Where is the good old days where a 325i was a 2.5L and a 320i was a 2.0L and a 328i was a 2.8L... :banghead:

This is all in a effort to make the production of the cars cheaper, as making different electronics or even better, different software is much much (one more? ok) much cheaper that producing a different engine.
