120D Starter problems :(

Hi all

I am not sure how the site works! but here goes nothing... yesterday i noticed my starter takes a few times till it really starts.. the first few times it just sounds like the turbo spitting and then it stops.. after about 5 or 5 attempts it starts... what do you think this could be.. please help!

Welcome to the Forum :thumbs: This is only the introduction thread so here is a few tips.

These guys are willing to give you the best advice but you need to do the following. :

Use this thread you created to introduce yourself there is not a lot of members that view this section and therefor the absence of response.

Once ylou set this up and its out of the way Go to the General BMW chat and create a new Topic with the same as you stated in here the guys will be lining up to help you from there. There is a lot of EXPERTS on the forum

that turbo sound is the starter spinning freely, meaning the starter solinoid is sticking , and not engageing the starter motor to the flywheel/engine.
after trying a few times it engages properly, and the engine can be started.

best would be to have the starter motor replaced or serviced..
