120d e87 - Turbo blown

Hey guys,

Needed some advice.

My turbo on my 2005 120d blew yesterday .

Any advice on whether to have it reconditioned or get a new or 2nd hand one? And where I could have this done?

Also anyone you could suggest to strip and refit the turbo in Pretoria/Jhb area?

we would need to see the damage to determine how bad the turbo is before deciding to repair or get new.

i got good work from turbo perfect on my 116i and my x3 2.0d.

he did full recon rebuild on my turbo, his pencil was very sharp when it came to the bill so i was happy. the only issue i had is that my turbo on the x3 is a mitsubishi turbo and my actuator was buggered as well, this i had to bring in from Europe, but then the mitsubishi turbo agents, turbo direct did a good job installing and setting the actuator for me and turbo perfect then completed the job and all happy.
but all companies recommended above are decent. decide for yourself who you comfortable with and who your gut feels good with. best of luck

DO NOT make use of turbo perfect.

A mate of mine has taken his turbo back there 3 times and it is still not sorted. Repair time is ridiculously long as well.

He has now taken it to Gaby which will no doubt sort it out.
