120d 2012 vs 130i 2008

What's your take on new 2012 120d vs 130i, I'm thinking of getting a new 2012 120d A/T for my 130i 2008 trade-in>>

Any advise??

I would possibly do it.
THe 120d pulls like a train, and is surprising quick. You WILL miss your 130i soundtrack though, and the 120d will be slower.
Styling is down to preference, but the interior is a much nicer place to be.

I was in a 2012 120d demo car a few weeks back, with a friend test driving and I must say it can really move!!! I've never experienced a 130i but the new BMW diesel cars are awesome!

But then again, I am slightly biased towards the diesel cars....just love the feeling of power when accelerating.

I think the fact that you've considered the 120d from a 130i means you welcome the diesel and can expect a bit of slower performance...yet still enjoy the car. :thumbs:

But you will love the diesel...pretty sure of it.

Have you test driven it yet? Maybe do that first. :thumbs::=):

cant beat a diesel, especially BMW;s new diesels and the consumption compared to the 130i, OMW!

I've done quite a bit of research on the 130i since I wanted to buy one, I came to the conclusion that they should not really be owned outside of motorplan (at least not the ones with the BMW efficient dynamics crap anyways) so +1 go for the 120d.

Besides the exterior looks of the new one, they are very nice inside and drive nicely too...

If only they took the old exterior and plopped it onto the new chassis and driving dynamics they'd have an absolute winner!
