Posted This to see what others might be getting, 0-100 in 6.8 seconds on a BMW 130i e87 (2007). Timed by stopwatch. Johannesburg

Mods : decat + full exhaust system + xpipe done by power flow
Remap done by racechip( should have done it by xcede )

Will upload the video soon. Quality not too good though

Q: What effect does the "decaf" have on the engine? Is it similar to decaf coffee on the human body? :tiptoe::roflol:

0-100 time with a stop watch is not very reliable.

Why not rather take it to Tarlton on a Friday night timed event and obtain a 1/4 time.

In the real world, 0-100 time doesn't really mean much as it covers just 2 gears, sometimes into 3rd....

Alot changes in acceleration right after eaching 100km/h, so 0-100km/h is not necesasarily a good indication of how powerful a car is. So ja a trip to Tarlton wount hurt.

remember that 100 on the clock isnt a truly 100 .. like the guys said .. if u really wanna try the decaf mod out .. a track would be ur best option .. unless u get a vbox and test via that ..

6.8 does seem a bit slow for a 130i. Is it auto?

6.8 if tested correctly is strong in my opinion since its an NA car at altitude

Exactly my thoughts. I also noticed car runs much slower at higher temperatures.

And it's a manual

Question, who stopped the stopwatch?

Driving a E90 330i and from experience I know that you will hit 80km/h in 1st and then shift and hit 100km/h somewhere in 2nd but can go to 140km/h in that gear :)fencelook: found this out when I passed a "slow" vw on the highway and shifted to far back from 5th to 2nd :roflol: )

So how did you stop the stopwatch or someone helped? Wonder how much slower my donkey will be :dropjaw: than your 130i

I took a video of the 0-100 and then I played the video and timed it from there lol if that makes sense. This way I could retime it a few times( not reliable timing at all )

Have a go and post a video it would be nice to compare

Years ago we did some informal testing in mine. Managed 7seconds dead here in Jhb.

Then we were down in PE for December holidays a few years back and tried again. Did a 6.6 and 6.34 seconds.

Did you have any mods done to the car at that time. I also noticed your car has the BMWP intake. Did you feel a significant difference with it ?

it sounds strange, are u using the stock diff and gearbox? The car must be slower than normal on pull away if the ratios are like that but it should be economical, what revs would be your tachometer when doing 120km/h in 6th gear?

The runs in Jhb were when it was stock. The runs in PE I had the performance intake fitted already, and the car was packed full with luggage.

The intake makes a small difference in power, was about 3kw on the peak, low down torque improved nicely though, 25Nm at 2500rpm.

N/A cars come alive down at the coast. It's a real blast to drive down there.
