just got quoted this:

For rear only VAT incl.
Midas:
Disk- 794 both by Ate
Pads- 440 by Ferodo
Sensor-177
Total-1411

Goldwagen:
Disk- 898 both by Febi Bilstein
Pads- 567 by Febi Bilstein
Sensor- 90
Total-1555

Sounds ok?

In centurion Goldwagen is in the same centre so will get the sensor there and the pads/disk at Midas. I'm also not a Febi Bilstein fan

ATE and Ferodo are well known and they seem cheaper as well.

Maybe just get the sensors from Goldwagen or ask Midas if they can match the sensor price from Goldwagen

I went with ATE's on my 330. Can't remember exactly how much I paid, but it was around R1500 for a set of rear disks and pads from Midas. If you go with ATE disks I'd get ATE pads as well. I can't really fault them, just lately they've been squeeking a bit, but goes away with a bit of copper slip applied on the surface of the disks.

Sensors I bought from goldwagon for about R80. Can't remember the brand, but it had 'made in Germany' printed on the box:rollsmile:

Bud never never apply copper slip to the surface of the disk.

It should be applied to the tabs on the pads that make contact with the caliper.

Thanks for the advise:thumbs: Any reason why it shouldn't be applied to the disks? Basically i just put some copper slip by the edges of the pad where it touches the disk and it never made a noise since.

Oh yes, just remembered when I had my tyres fitted the guys also applied a thin layer of copper slip to my disks:flyfun: They said it would prevent them from rusting:fencelook:

I also recall paying less than R100 for the brake wear sensor. On the 330i the discs are more pricey, like R525 each.

So your prices sound right aside form the sensor at goldwagen...

You would be making your braking surface less efficient.

Not bad prices, go with ATE disks, even ATE pads but Ferodo is fine too - have not been hearing the greatest regarding Febi brakes...
