they must just carry on doing what they are doing now, but the car needs to be able to perform at all altitudes. turbo or sc m3 will make the car near perfect for me.

But the ///M gained its great handling reputation from the older models.

It's not just one element that makes an ///M car brilliant, it's the total package.:praise:

That is it.

Aerodynamics, weight distribution, power, brakes, suspension, drivers position, onboard software and visual impact all come together perfectly in the design stage. To create something that cannnot be matched by bolt on aftermarket.

Agree..... It's presence does it for me. See on on the road and just from the stance you know it's an ///M- oh and what about extensive testing?

Its a combination for brilliant stuff put together, for me nothing stands out in particular.

In an M car its all about the way it drives and makes you feel, not worrying about telling people about how fast your gearbox changes gears, your tricked out suspension, 0-100 time, ........

definately true. there will always be something faster and better looking and that handles better etc, but the ///M way is to do everything so good together that you just dont care

That's why you won't understand...:sorry:

Go test drive an e90/92 M3 or an e60 M5 and then report back.

I had 335 which I thought was great, but, when I bought my first M3, I was hooked, it's not 1 thing that makes it different, it's the whole package, given my 335 ran circles around my M3 is not the point.

I own a f10 M5, but still prefer my M3(e90). I have not driven any other M, in any series, so I am being biased, but, the day the new M3 is launched with the new turbo charged motor, if god blesses I will be 1st in line. Then u will have the perfect car.

For me the perfect ///m is a mix of the m3 csl and the e92 m3. The current m3 is near perfect as Jeremy c says and I agree. Unfortunately the e92 rep has been tarnished because of the x35 beatdowns but it's still brilliant. Was actually thinking of getting one to experience it before turbos take over and it will get legendary status perhaps... 1st and last v8. Might be a nice prelude to the turbo M.

The othe m's just don't dont do it for me. Great cars but lack the m3's balance and a perfect all rounder takes it.
