Howzit All

Been some time since I posted anything here, but my time has come to part with the 2024 M340i G20 LCI, (I know I am terrible with cars and don't drive more than 25k km before I move on)

But the state of the roads and fixing tires and rims just got to me, and I had to get a SUV, I was a big fan of the G01 X3m even before I purchased the M340i, but then the new model would launch at the end of 2024 so I would have a old spec car.

So I waited patiently to find out when the G45 X3m will come to SA, just to find out at my last service that it will not come and the M50 is the flagship model.

Then I just had to get one, and here are some pics

Congrats on the new ride.

Out of curiosity, what is your impression of the interior quality compared to the G20?

I must say, the quality is on par if not better than the M340i,

only thing I do not like is the fact that there is not button to press to deactivate the stop/start function, you have to touch the screen to get to the setting to deactivate.

seats are extremely comfortable and sporty, and very spacious, it is also incredibly nippy for a big car like it is, it is actually bigger than the first X5
and the big pano roof is a big attraction, my kids love it

Congrats bud,

I must say these have grown on me over time. I see more of the G45s on the road and I love them. My mom has an F97 X3m Comp and its sad that BMW have no plans for an X3M in the G45, because that would be absolutely awesome.

Hope you're enjoying here so far, she's beautiful

Congratulations! Many happy miles

How do you find the driving dynamics of it? steering feel, handling etc?

What is the difference in tire profile that made the X3 better for pot holes etc than the M340i?

Steering in Comfort is smooth but still precise and goes where you point her.

Sport mode is a lot stiffer, and handling is insane for an SUV, still new to the SUV market, but I am pushing her into corners at decent speeds and she takes it all in her stride, I think I will push even more ones I get more used to it.

Well tire profile on the rims I took is not really that big difference,

M340i
Front 225/35/19
Back 255/30/19

M50
Front 255/40/21
Back 285/35/21

I think it is more in my mind, bud I do not feel the urge to duck for any small pothole, don't get me wrong I don't drive over them and still drive past them, just more relaxed

Hi everyone.

Congrats Konic. Looks great. Love it!!

I see that it came with a nice front lip and roof spoiler. Was this like this from the dealer?

This does make the M50 stand out a bit more from the standard models.

Hi Centrino

Thank you very much.

No I had this fitted with the side sills before collection, I had to get it done, had the same on my M340i, seeing that we can mod engine at least we can make them look better

Congrats!

That new G looks goo din white! The m50 being the top of the range...B58 is tops!
Thank you very much Ash

I looked at that Frozen Pure Grey Metallic, but the lines gets lost in the dark color and the matt finish doesn't do it for me.

This Gen 3 B58 is something else

Beautiful car! Many happy miles for you!

What's your take on the driver and passenger side air vents, they get quite a bit of negative criticism on youtube reviews?

to me it isn't really an issue, I set the vents full open, and I left it, and the car wash guys can't change it so it stays in the same place lol, actually works better for me this way lol
