Hey everyone, new member.
Recently got my first car after graduating and getting a new job this year. 😊 Studying was hard and I had endless nights rethinking my life and my choices LOL. So I thought let me spoil myself when getting my first car, I didn't want to start off small and sensible, I had to just risk life and enjoy it while I still can...after all I've loved cars since I was a kid watching those 3 British men on the TV.

And safe to say, I absolutely love her so far.

There were a few issues even just getting it from the dealer in Pretoria, I'm from PE. It was just by chance that while I was looking at listings online, I got sent up to Pretoria for work, so I decided to pay the dealer a visit while I was up there. I saw the car and immediately knew that I had to have it.

It's not a perfect car, its 11 years old, so I wasn't expecting showroom condition.

Long story short I ended up getting it and I drove it all the way down to PE, took me about 10 hours and 1&1/2 tanks of petrol later lol.
I had to top up the oil when a warning came on just outside of Kroonstad. The car was due for a service since its been standing around and the dealer couldn't get a booking to get it serviced in time for me to take delivery of the vehicle. So we agreed to get it serviced by BMW when I got back to PE.

A new battery was put in as well, but for some reason I was still getting a discharging error, I got the battery registered to the car at BMW and all, so it couldn't be that. It didn't want to start one morning after me leaving it in the garage for a day... safe to say I was worried....

But a short trip to the auto-electrician and he discovered some old wires at the rear of the car that was messing up the circuit, it was fixed and the car has been great ever since.

I'm not one to modify a car too much, especially the engine side, so it will stay stock for the foreseeable future. But I am interested tho in fitting the M-Performance parts that were an option back when the car was for sale. Specifically the 20" style 405M wheels, the front splitter thing and the side skirts, not sure where I will find them for sale to be honest...

Anyways enough about MY car (still feels weird saying it 🥹) here's some pics of it.

Congrats on the car.

As for the oil thing, mine typically requires a top-up every 5 to 6k km, depending on how hard I drive it. So always check it every month, and you will be fine. I don't recommend waiting for the car to tell you the oil is low, as one hard turn (pulling some G's) and you can spin the bearings if it is starved for a millisecond. So always keep it at full and don't track the car.

Otherwise, lovely car, dude. Many safe kms on it.

Welcome and Congrats,
Great choice of car, first thing to do is ensure you get an upgraded charge pipe for preventative maintenance. Then the forum has a tin of knowledge and lists on what else to look out for in future.
