im getting 15l/100 on a long distance run from jhb to dbn cruising at 120.... i just wanted to know if there is anyone who has done a tune on this type of car to help with fuel consumption. car has been service changeds plugs and filers and oil did the compression test. cats are not blocked so just asking if this is normal on a long run.If you want helpful answers, you need to give helpful information
735i should average around 10-15L/100 (I am guessing - depends on your driving style and commute). If you are seeing something above this, your car probably needs a service/diagnostic or your right foot needs recalibration
Is the 735i your daily?i cant exactly go buy a 730d now i currently have this one so i thought someone go help bring down the consumption a little
That sounds high, I get around 10 - 11 L/100 on my 540 V8 averaging closer to 160.im getting 15l/100 on a long distance run from jhb to dbn cruising at 120.... i just wanted to know if there is anyone who has done a tune on this type of car to help with fuel consumption. car has been service changeds plugs and filers and oil did the compression test. cats are not blocked so just asking if this is normal on a long run.

Thank youWhat is your mileage on the car? That engine would be (I stand to be corrected) N62B36 which is a V8?
You would need to first look at the service history and the items that have been serviced and also check all the items yourself. The air filter being one, then the Fuel and Oil filters and could also possibly do with a carbon clean if high mileage.
oil change will make a great difference and also using the correct spec oil as well - can only be confirmed by doing the oil change and getting the right oil yourself.
Then also look at the CATS on the car and possibly would require a de-CAT as they could be close to or blocked.
Diagnostics are great, it will show you where the car is over-reading or compensating for something so will tell you where possibly there is a problem or to look for the problem.
This is as much as I can remember from the top of my head now but the guys can chime in.

If the car has been serviced with the correct parts, I would start with a diagnoses looking specifically at items that could affect fueling - MAF and O2 sensors. Check what the adaptations are (if you are unsure about this, google is your friend) which could point to a vacuum leak or blockage somewhere
And at what speeds are you doing this?im getting 15l/100 on a long distance run from jhb to dbn cruising at 120.... i just wanted to know if there is anyone who has done a tune on this type of car to help with fuel consumption. car has been service changeds plugs and filers and oil did the compression test. cats are not blocked so just asking if this is normal on a long run.
