Latest addition - Weekend warrior G30 540i - Mila

It's been a bit less predictable, seem to get caught in more storms recently. Alternatively, you miss the storm but catch a few drops just to mess up the car
And those Gauteng storms can be hectic. I remember one Friday afternoon after I had spend hours cleaning my E90, I had to drive to the office to pick up my ex. When I saw those dark clouds I drove every bit of that 135kw out of the car to make it home in time. I just closed the garage door and it came down like crazy.

Ever since buying the car, I loved the comfort of the 19s, even with the MSport suspension, BMW managed to make soft enough to absorb most of the bumps on our roads, after you have completed the advanced pothole avoidance course though. I loved the look of the 20s but at the time didnt want to sacrifice the comfort. I had planned to drive a MSport g30 to see if it would be something I could live with.

Not long after I purchased the car, @KrS24 put his F90 wheels for sale, which belonged to @TurboLlew before that. I loved the look of the wheels on the g30 but it just wasn't the right time. I had to avoid the forum so that I wouldn't see the for sale thread. Skip ahead to late last year when the discussion came up with @KPM3_30 and Kev was trying to twist my arm to purchase the set, but I needed to put it off due to other priorities. I mentioned if it was available in Mar/April this year, I would take the plunge.

I think one of Kevs news Years resolutions' was to make sure those wheels ended up on my car because he was reminding me about the ad before I stopped complementing people on the new year. He was chatting to Chris and eventually convinced me to take the plunge. Chris was kind enough to hold the wheels till month end and as luck would have it, Llew was looking to get rid of his previous tyres. The initial plan was to store the wheels till I was ready to get tyres and have them fitted, but things were lining up...

We decided on a date to meet and test fit the wheels and tyres. I learnt that there was a difference between the MSport brake setup and MPerformance setup. The MSport setup is about 1,5mm further out which meant I needed different spacer compared to what Chris used in front. I ended up using 5mm spacers to clear the caliper and fitted the M5 tyres which included 275/35 up front and 285/35 at the rear. The rears were quite aggressive and the oversized tyres filled the arches nicely. Unfortunately on the drive home there was some rubbing on the rear.

Even though the tyres were going to be changed, didn't mean that they wouldn't get cleaned

Chose to clean the wheels and apply some quick wax

I ended up getting 245/35 for fronts and moved the 275/35 to the rear and so far no rubbing.

Thanks to Chris, Llew and Kev for allowing this to happen the way it did.
