330d crankcase breather

Saw some faint blue smoke coming from my E46 330d when starting it in the morning, found the culprit to be the CCV.

Agents charging me R2054 for the original ‘loo roll’ type, Goldwagen charging R515 for the Vortex.

Is there a difference in part quality? I find it hard to believe the one from BMW is 4 times the quality but would just like to hear from anyone with more information on which part is best.

Thanks

The OEM Will fit and will be 100% compatible with the car - hence the price for the RND and peace of mind.

Is a break down worth the R1500 you save ?

The loo roll is a disposable filter and it's pricing is absurd. There are decent filter brands out there that aren't OEM.The Vortex filters last way longer than loo roll type.

It is also worth a mention that BMW started questioning their own R&D when they completely left out the CCV filters in some of the M57 motors, more specifically the TU2.

No problems with it so far.
Great, thank you for the feedback.

I have the E90 and the turbo has started with whining noises when cold, with a bad smell in the cabin, it has recently started smoking when cold as well.

For interest sake, this Vortex type PCV from Goldwagen for the E90 is now R565

I am getting one this week.
