Technical recall notice via sms

So I got this message via sms today:
"Dear James Bond. A technical action is required on your vehicle. Please arrange an appointment at your nearest BMW dealer."

No, I am not 007, just replaced my name.
I checked here with Vin nr, https://www.bmw-motorrad.co.za/en/service/recall-lookup.html and nothing comes up.
Phoned BMW Tygervalley and apparently it's not a hoax and I am waiting for them to return my call. Lady handling this is very busy

I have a 2014 F30 330D

Anybody know if it is serious?

Maybe use the vehicle checker? You used the Motorad page which would presumably only do a lookup on bike VINs

I just got the same message, relating to my 2014 X3 20d. No idea what it's about...

Received same message called BMW Bryanston. They checked my VINs. Recall for F15 airbag replacement and F25 check airbag and replace if necessary.

Also received it but the muppets at the BMW dealer said the car needs to come in and can’t provide any further info on the phone.

Received the same message yesterday, 2010 E90. Have not phoned dealers yet. Curious what it relates to.

Use the link below, enter your VIN and then select “contact a dealer” - in the message content, you will find the campaign codes for the recall/s for your specific vehicle:

LINK

You can just do a Google search against the BMW campaign codes for more info as these are usually global.

Faulty diesel EGR campaign. They get stuck in egr mode, then melt the intake and in some cases burn the car to the ground.

Both my F25 and F30 and the below campaign:

Thank God all sensible owners switch EGR off once motorplan is up.
