it was a fixed spec ...so all of these manual ones either 420i or 420d are exactly the same.
however there was that one which had the interior retrimmed in black

Procurement dude f'd up when doing the order. Ordered in a batch of manuals instead of autos.

Pitty it's only with the 20i/20d engine, these are more daily commuters where auto I feel would be better.

If it was a 40i, some might appreciate the manual over the auto. Each to their own I guess.

the 20i has potential to be "fun" after some light mods.
on the assumption that they can be had for cheap in comparison to auto models

Same here, I don't understand how people spec cars out with such a light colour choice of interior. I wouldn't even choose silverstone interior.

I'm pretty old school, its either black or red. Although I have to admit, the orange seats on the G8X cars looks nice

I don't mind the colour, they're just all in such poor condition. Very sensitive to dye transfer as well so cleaning them can be a nightmare.
