Finally back in the Bimmer fold

Are there any decent upgrades to be made to the OEM headlights (LCI) on this model? I've seen some guys just do a straight up plug and play LED bulb switch for the angel eyes that gives a more modern look. Any experience with such mods?

Leave the car OEM, don't ruin it. If possible to retrofit, try to find MSport bumpers and wheels if you want to spice things up a bit 🔥

Oh trust me I have no intention of slapping random carbon bits on it, or deleting the chrome etc. I love the fact that the car is an chrome and wood-trimmed executive vehicle with a bit of oomph under the hood. But I would love to one day do a decent refresh of all the lights as they are a bit sun-damaged and then may as well modernise them. Also, if I win the Lotto I want to get some style 313 wheels as I think those just make the car perfect.

As for the bumper I think the LCI bumpers are pretty good looking so don't think I'll go that route.

For now the focus is fixing small bits and bobs and saving up for a proper service (Vanos, PCV etc) early next year. No good if the car looks great but runs trash ;)

There he is, freshly washed, lights given a good polish and finally in some sunlight.

First little DIY fix completed this morning.

Miserable bootlatch:

Fresh new OEM one fitted successfully (was nogal cheap from the dealer too):

Next job will be the windshield seal. Dealer gave me one that a customer didn't pick up at a big discount (paid R670 for the OEM seal).

Will post when done.

So I took on the windshield seal. Looked easy enough online. It wasn't.

For some reason whoever fitted the windshield decided to use as much Sikaflex or Budel as humanly possible so when I fitted the new seal the metal u-tubing that locks around the glass just simply couldn't slide in all the way, resulting in a frustrating fit if you have OCD.

It's still an improvement and I'll carefully cut off the bits where the seal is protruding pas the pillar which should make it look a bit better.

Really annoying but what can one do.

Good job bud, I also had to do mine when I got the M135i, got the dealership to pay for it and I fitted it at home due to OCD...it makes a huge difference.
