To add to my very off topic rant above. Cars have always been my passion, it's what keeps me motivated in life. Having a nice car or two in the driveway makes up for those shitty days when you're grinding your ass off and going seemingly nowhere.

Waking up at 4am on a Saturday morning and going for a blast, well that makes up for the depreciation and the high cost of new ownership.

Will I sell the m3 in a year to two years time, yeah probably. Will the next buyer get a bargain, most likely. Will I have enjoyed every minute of ownership, hell yes! Thats worth every cent to me.
Did you end up selling the car? Where does one go after owning a G80..

Bought an F90 competition. The g80 is an amazing car but at the end of the day its a little numb for normal every day driving. And yes my driving abilities don't allow me to turn off all the electronic aids all the time 🤷‍♂️

The F90 just seems to do everything really well all the time even with all the electronic nannies turned on, and still scare the shit out of you and your children on the school run. Although admittedly I was not a fan of the AWD when I first drove one.

I'm glad I sold when I did though. Paid 2.1 or thereabouts and they're selling for +-1.6 3 years later

Did you get the 2021 facelift? I hear it's also numb to drive as all of the newer cars these days are but ofc it has the 460kw 750nm torque to remedy this. It's not as agile as the G8x..but did the G8x atleast scare you shitless when took to full tilt or is the M5 just that much scarier and aggressive?

I went cheap and bought a 2019 competition, a really good deal came up on the forums, although I had to spend a bit to get it sorted cosmetically. I couldn't justify spending 2 mill+ at the time on the facelifted F90, when the facelift has the digital display (not a big fan) and the stock exhaust is about as loud as a 4 cylinder on cold start. The rest of the car is exactly the same as far as I can tell.

To answer your q, yes the G80 can be an animal and will very easily get you into trouble. Dont get me wrong its an insane car but 90% of my seat time is normal every day driving and the G80 just has nothing to give under those circumstances. Perhaps if I knew how to drive and took it to track days my opinion would be different. I don't have to turn everything off in the M5 for it to feel like an animal and I dont want to turn the electronic help off either :ROFLMAO:

The F90 on the other hand will scare you in comfort mode (or maybe just me lol), makes all the right noises and feels almost as nimble. Maybe its just me but when I sit in my F90 it still feels really special just like it did when I bought it. That feeling faded rather quickly in the G80.

If you're thinking of getting a G80 make sure you test drive in a few situations, i.e. highway blast, heavy traffic as well as some back roads. Then do the same comparison in an F90.

IMHO (and I mean this in a very positive way so don't misread it!) you need to stop reading and hearing or watching youtubers and go drive these (if you can, back to back). Alot of your questions will be answered nearly instantly. Whatever similarity there seems to be on paper is quite different in reality and people go for these for very different reasons. The G80/82 if they want to be in more control and be able to one day master it etc, the F90 for yes all the space, superior materials/design and things like that... but also because it makes you feel like it might kill you sometimes (much less so than the F10 though LOL)

The AWD is a little numbing... not as much as you think and NOTHING like how an Audi or AWD Merc makes you feel. Feels like a planted RWD car.

I think it will surprise you more than you think!

IMHO F90 + SUV + 'real' Sportscar (that can be slow and manual and full of feel if need be... or in my case small and light) is the way to go if you're able to spend money at these levels.
