Recommended Mechanics in Randburg

Hi All,

I recently got a 10K quote for some repair work from the local Bosch workshop so I'm looking for a mechanic in the Randburg area.
Does anyone have recommendations?

Hi,

I had recently changed the tappet cover gasket and since then it is "hunting" at idle. The mechanic advised that the usual cause of this issue is the tappet cover is damaged. so the quote was for a replacement tappet cover and the related labor.

My issue is that they seem to be guessing here, an educated guess but still a guess.
I'm not comfortable spending that amount of money with no guarantee it would fix the issue

If the gasket has stopped the oil leak, it might be the PCV that needs replacing. On some models it is part of the valve cover which could mean replacing. This could cause the rough idle, if he has ruled out a vacuum leak, coil packs and plugs. I am also assuming he checked what codes are coming up.

I am close to Randburg and would rather suggest taking the car to TuneTech. They are pricey, a bit of a drive, but you definitely wont get guesswork on fixing the issue.
