F82 M4 Spring Breaks

Hi All,

Has anyone ever had their coil spring break before?
I spiritedly pulled away from a toll gate and heard a knock - turned out to be the spring breaking

The car is 2014 M4 DCT with under 100k km milage, and has the stock suspension setup (electronic dampers)

I am wondering if this is a common issue and how to move forward with fixing it.
If the stock coils are indeed an issue, I will look for aftermarket alternatives, however I prefer to replace with OEM because I cannot go lower than stock

Thanks!

Well, this is very odd...however cheaper to just source another stock set thank spending money on upgrade parts and you won't use it other than for stock ride height.

In my opinion...

I have seen quite a lot of this documented for the F87 (M2 -competition) variants overseas, springs braking quite frequently.

I personally believe bad batch poorly manufactured sets. Some failed on fairly low mileage cars. Have not seen may reports in SA, but a lot in UK and US.
