technical BMW E90 starting issues

Hi guys, I'm at my wits end with my E90, (manual) I'm having issues with my car starting. It starts like normal and when I switch off it just won't start again. Sometimes it will start after I let it stand a while but that's not always the case. Out of frustration one day while the car was on, I started playing around with the gears and to my shock while moving it around into the gears it started up. It sounds crazy! So before i switch the car off i put it in gear, this seemed to help and I was a bit relieved but now that's not working either...
Sometimes i just pull the car out of the garage and switch off then it just won't start so its not because its overheating or something needs to cool down. Now i have to kick start it. My mechanic can't pick up a fault and says it could be 1 of 3 things. I rxplained all ths to him even about the gears and i think he doesn't believe me. Also when I take the car to him switch it off to show him, then it starts Is there any advise? I can't replace 3 things....

What model e90?

You need a better-qualified technician to help you diagnose this.

Does the car throw error codes when scanned?

Could be sensors, fuel pump, plugs etc...lots of potential issues.

Staring an e90 manual requires the clutch to be pressed in. So I would look into what was mentioned previously being the clutch switch. If the car is not picking up that the clutch is being pressed in it won’t start. Maybe start there

It might be your starter motor bud, at times it will make a click sound when not starting ? I would start there,
