In my quest for greater performance and some mild offroading, I have to let this car go.

It is being traded in the coming week for something left field that ticks all my boxes.

A Noddy badge for anyone who guesses correctly...

Some clues - it is slightly used, low mileage, 3 years old and left field and not costing me anything on my trade in...

And i was just about to reply, and say you should really remap your car, and will get close to the performance you had with your TT.

Looking forward to the new ride

The end is near...

My spare wheel will be traded in with the car - the buyer on the dealer's trade-in side wanted that as part of the deal.
He also wanted my stripes.
:smilebounce:

My puncture compressor kit will be up for sale soon on this forum.

I am scoring a clean R30k from my trade in (my car is R360k) on this other vehicle (priced at R330k).

That money will go straight into on offshore index tracker tax free ETF, so that I can ease the depreciation that I will likely face when selling this other car in future...

Details to follow soon on the new girl.

He has some explaining to do.

My first thought was a Volvo D5 AWD, but you mentioned "my quest for greater performance and some mild offroading", so that threw me off.

So I trolled my magazines and came up with this list.... None of the 5 cylinder Diesels are better performance or consumption wise than your 320d.

Have I missed something?

2016 V60 Cross Country D4 (2.4 5 cylinder) AWD Inscription

A pretty boring, if well specced, car.

However, add this little blue sticker and the enhancements to throttle, gearbox and the motor, and things change dramatically.

Granted, its no 30d, but it pulls stronger than my 320d and that warbly 5 cylinder motor sounds amazing when pushed. Polestar must have worked some extra magic because it sounds so much better than the old XC60 D5 (same motor, less power).

This 2.5 5 cylinder was the last engine of its type before Volvo switched to 4 cylinders in all Volvos from 2017.

The handling is not fun (in a BMW RWD way) but is rock steady and neutral - like an Audi with Quattro. This model has a fully hydraulic steering, so it feels great. Most of the international models used the T5 motor (the 4 cylinder Drive E motor), which has electric steering.

Anyway, I am picking the car up on Saturday. Wil post pics then.

The newer V60s CCs and the old V60 (station wagon) D4s all use the 4 cylinder motors. These pale in comparison...
