Hi all.
So i know this is not a BMW, but im sure you wont mind
Ive been itching for a bike for some time, and test rode a few bikes, (GSXR600, and the R6).
Got my Learners recently in Nov, even though ive been riding on and off fo some time for short stints, but nothing crazy, and generally on smaller bikes.
Decided its time to purchase my own first bike, and opted mainly for the Yamaha R6, after speaking to @osiris it was clear the 2008+ was the model to look for, and so i went about looking for one.
After seeing a few duds, and plenty of up and down driving (one in klerksdorp was a particular shit show).
But anyways, there was a very clean one but very expensive that i was set on and ready to purchase, but on the day, a new ad came across my phone, and after contacting the owner, i just had a very good feeling, and i had @osiris join me as he was going to ride the bike back to my apartment as i hadnt had much highway miles under my belt, so thought it would be best.
After a quick chat, and a very very smooth and comfortable sale process, i paid and took delivery of my new to me 2009 Yamaha R6.
The deal included:
3 helmets
2 sets of gloves
2 jackets
a rear Paddock stand
Bike has 31 000km on the clock

Now with it being my first owned bike, i did a few rides in my complex, to get used to it, then a few rides around the block.
I wasnt happy with the Throttle as i felt it was very tight and sticky, so did some research nd found the FreePlay adjuster was fiddled with and made far too tight, so a quick adjustment and the throttle was free and snapping back exactly as it should.
Wet ahead and removed the Rear Foot pegs, coz well, weight reduction.
Also bought gear.
New Scorpion CF Helmet
New Tall AlpineStars Boots
New Sidi Short casual Boots
Arma Jeans
and found a deal on a great set of Arlen Ness Titanium 2 piece leathers, which fit very well and look great.
This past Sunday i took a ride to Osiris house which was my first big ride and highway trip, which went well, and gave me a chance to feel the bike more and get familiar with Traffic.
So anyways, just a show and tell, and i still have a fair bit to get used to and learn, but im loving having a bike full time. and with being back at work this week, im having heavy riding withdrawals, so a bike ride this weekend is a must.
A big thanks to @osiris for the help with getting the bike home, and also all the advice and knowledge he had for me on the bike. Been a great learning curve.
