Hi guys,

So looking to upgrade my NAV Maps on my 2012 X5 E70 .............. I remember plenty of threads were out there but dont see anything new .......... any ideas or sharing of latest or later than 2012 versions?

So, I upgraded my 2018 X3 G01 maps to the latest version from BMW online about two months ago.
When I went to the Drakensberg recently, the maps (even though it was the latest version) did not pick up many of the tourist attractions. It even failed to route us quickly to our holiday destination, preferring to take a very long winded route instead.

I was so frustrated, I ended up using Google Maps directly, with my phone mounted on the air vent.

I will not be upgrading my BMW Maps in future.

The same applies to my Macan. Even though the maps are upgradable, nothing really beats Google or Waze.

I got some E70 android headunits that I can offer you. Pricing is R7.5k with generic reverse camera as well.

Agree with this option.
Android headunits are the way to go.
The pricing here is also very reasonable.

Hi Firi,

I have all the "bells & whistles" on the iDrive to the display screen stock fitted so just want to upgrade the software basically for my 2012 maps for my Nav to something later or newest, remember with my other X5's you could just klap a CD in the rear and this would start the upgrade from an ISO file download and then you cut a CD etc ................ thanks for your offer though boet

I agree with @MR_Y that the nav experience is sub-par. However I've PM'd you the details of the guy who will supply you the maps and the FSC code for ~$30 if you really want to update the maps.
