Hi Gents , thanks for add.
I would like your opinion or suggestions on the tyre and road noise on my M240i 2018 . I’ve got a set of 18” oem rims running on good year eagle F1 brand new run flats and I have a set of 18” new m3 rep rims running on normal tyres brand new as well.
Vehicle is still under plan , BMW said it’s normal 🧐.

Is it the normal ? I find it very irritating, your suggestion and help will be much appreciated

My experience has been that tyres become noisier as they wear but considering you mentioned yours is new, it won’t be that.
Agree that RFTs are noisier than normal tyres but not massively.

Not too sure what the sound insulation is like in a 2 series, but my M2 did pick up road noise. My g20 3 series is far more refined and quieter than my m2 and the F30 3 series I had previously. The m2’s have some insulation removed for weight savings which I would prefer they never did, but it is meant to be a track like car and not a smooth daily cruiser.

What car are you coming from?

Welcome to the forum!

What is the question?

RFTs will be noisier than 'normal tyres' - always.
Thanks for replying Morribscuit .

My question is , is it common for the m240 interior cabin road noise normal, I’ve ran RFT and normal tyres still get a lot of road

Hi MoeM2

Thanks for the reply

I’m coming from a c220D coupe then a X3 2020 .

I use the m240 as a daily and finding the road noise a-bit hectic . Is it worth while sending it in for sound proofing or a waste?
Or is there something else I should be looking into ?

Also have 2018. Running on Bridgestone 18's. No road noise . Do have annoying wind noise from A pillar though. Apparently that's the norm too

Unfortunately its part and parcel of driving a car with pillar-less windows. I had the same issue on my scirocco and the same on the 220d now, I must say the scirocco wasn't as bad though. You just learn to live with it.

Also experienced this for the first time with the M3 albeit at speeds

Also experienced this with the E92 and looked into it until I heard it wasn't uncommon. It really only bothers me at silly speeds but then, the wind noise isn't the focal point.
