Some electrical issues on car after jump start

Hallo All

Yesterday my SO drove to work with or 125i ( E82 ). After work i got a call the car wont start ( Battery drained ) It did not show any signs of a low battery before.
A co worker helped jumped the car and after this, the car is giving an orange brake warning, the hazard/corner lamps is not working, together with the roof light and windows. The headlights also does not switch off, it stays on even if switched off , only if the car is switched off the lights go out . Anyone experienced the same?
I checked all fuses on the hazards/corner lamps and doors, all ok.

Your Footwell/FRM probably lost its coding. This is repairable, contact obdworx. But you need to figure out why your battery went flat otherwise it will happen again

Yes, FRM probably got hurt with the jumpstart. Had to remove a FRM from a E90 some months ago and sent it to OBDWorx and got it back a few days later. They repaired it. Cost was R1500 iirc.

Yes that i need to trace also, doing some tests around it.

My X5 e70 was jumped from the battery terminals and fried the controller and a few other electrical parts. I learned later that if you jump any of the newer BMW's you need to use the terminals under the hood. I was told that the reason is that the under hood terminals run through a voltage regulator, whereas jumping to the battery bypasses any voltage regulation. If during the jump to the battery the voltage goes higher than the car likes to see (and who knows what that might be) you fry all sorts of electrical parts. I have since jumped the car via the under hood terminals and had no issues.

The car was jumped from the front terminals, i was not with the car when it was jumped, a co worker helped my SO, I would have jumped without starting the other car.

Hi guys, so this morning just wanted to start the car a bit, battery is fine but, the car is not locking, unlocking, boot does not open and car is not starting at all, ignition goes on but not cranking or engaging the starter motor. Is this now also related to the FRM module ?

Are you sure the battery is perfect? If more than 2-3years old then its considerably old.

I've found cars reacting strangely when the battery is on its way out.

Maybe test with a good new battery first.

So battery need replacement, managed to get the boot opened by connecting another battery at the front, hopefully before the weekend the FRM will be sorted and we can drive again.
