check with your local dealer if the black oil special is still valid, it was R4700 for 3 oil services over 24 months. so about R1566 per oil service.

Around 1.8k is the normal price at a dealer for 30d's

I just serviced my X3 20D.

After getting quotes from my usual Indie, Tunetech and Mph performance that a special on a liqui Moly oil special... None came close to the pricing from Auto Bavaria Midrand.

For the same price i was getting quoted for just the oil service and fitment of the fuel filter i already had acquired, i got a brake fluid service done too.

Definitely give them a call, and ask for a quote with the Fanatics discount.

Ideally you should be change your fuel filter with every oil change on a diesel which is part of BMWs process for oil changes. That special at Bmw is well worth it considering their labor, parts and oil used.

I think you are confusing oil filter and fuel filter.
Oil filter is changed with every oil service.
Fuel filter is changed every second oil service if im correct.

The X3 has been to BMW twice already for oil services and they have never changed the fuel filter (granted I do 10k intervals). I changed the fuel filter myself at 100k, prior to that it was changed under plan at 50k.. Even the quotes from BMW themselves don't include this under the oil service spec, unless you specifically asked for it to be done with your oil service?

Fuel filter usually falls under inspection 2 IIRC, which is not done at every service.

Just been through my motororplan report. BMW only replaced diesel filter at 45k km. The air filter also get replaced on the 3rd service, given my services were every 10k km.

Definately not ideal for the air filter. I would foot the bill and have it changed every oil service...
