Hi Guys

I've got factory fitted side sills on my F30 with the M-performance logo. It seems to be a bit dull and faded from the time I got the vehicle. There are water marks that don't easily come off with a wash and can be visble even after it drys. Also the "M-performance" sticker has turned an off-white color.

I dont want to try any product without knowledge and possibly make it worse so are there any products you can recommend or have used to retain the colors (on the black section and the on the white decal) and to get the water marks off?

Hi bud, does the factory fitted sill comes wrapped with vinyl or painted matt black?

It looks and feels like a satin finish vinyl.

If vinyl and stained/faded I doubt it can be restored. You could use a trim dressing like CarPro Perl but this will only be temporary and need to be applied each time you wash.

Alternatively might be best to get it redone in some good quality vinyl and thereafter ceramic coated so it stays protected. There are various coatings specifically for ppf/vinyl and if you have a good wrap/detail shop in CT, they can assist with the whole process.

The vinyl isn't too expensive from BMW... Although I would try and hit them with some iron remover during the next wash and see from there... Perfectly safe on vinyl.

Thanks bud, this sounds like a great option. It isn't that bad actually and barely noticeable unless you're looking at it at close proximity but these little things do bug some of us.
