Back in a BM after 12 months, return to diesel & my first SUV

What you can do is get Plastidip....spray it on and it comes out matt. Then there is another can called glossifier...which makes the matt gloss. if unhappy just peel it off :) Under R1000 for all cans I would think

In other news second tank of diesel in, 7.8l/100…
It’s currently in for DP, software, and oil work that needed to be changed per ZF (rear diff) & once back will go to ZF for transfer case.

It’ll go for detailing thereafter. Updates to follow

Id say 85% is urban school run type with 15% being highway (and not far at that potentially 80-100km round trip)

In terms of rims.. I've currently got the pre-face 19" m sport rims that came on my F25 and I've got the 17s like yours that I bought as spares, which are also on non-runflats and will say that the ride and feel is drastically different. The 19s look great but the ride and feel of the 17s without runflats is much better. Must caveat that I haven't driven an F25 with non-runflat 19s.. Would love to know if that's as much as an improvement!

You guys are all bad influences! unfortunately the price of 19” tyres puts these rims out for me (never mind the fact I already find the ride harder than expected) although a guy in my complex has these on his f25 LCI. I’m going to see if I can get him to take me for a drive to feel the ride and maybe maaaaaaybe I’ll consider after that.

I have a F25 facelift on the optional 20inch incl wheels (front tyres are 245/40 20, rear 275/35 30). Vehicle looks great and I have gotten use to the ride.

Due to tyres you can perhaps only do some light off road driving, however I rarely do anyway.

Tyre prices are heavy, fronts are like R5.5k per tyre and rear just over R6k (these are run flats prices though - I always wonder whether I should switch to non RFT next time around).

Another thought, does M sports not have a firmer suspension set up? So perhaps stiffer ride not all down to the rims and tyres?

Actually worth checking prices with BMW, supposedly <R20k for the set of 20s RFT excl. fitment.

Rivonia tyres and Mintys Sandton have decent pricing as well. I also get good discounts from Umesh at Bryanston BMW (JSN)

Yeah agreed on Rivonia Tyres, I'm yet to find a place cheaper in JHB for any tyres that I have requested quotes on.

I’ve only ever bought from Mintys fordsburg or cresta & they’ve always been cheaper by far than anyone else I got quotes from (at least 4 other places usually)
