N57 Diesel Aftermarket Downpipe Sound?

If I go with an aftermarket downpipe(delete DPF and cat) on my F15 X5 M50D family car, will it sound like a dump truck?

Backstory: I'm looking to get rid of the DPF and SCR in order to eliminate them as a failure point. My concern is that it might sound too loud and like a dump/work truck versus a refined luxury vehicle. I don't mind a bit more growl than stock, but want to stay away from making it sound too aggressive and just silly. I've given thought to possibly doing the downpipe but then adding a straight through resonator to quiet it back down a bit.

For those running aftermarket downpipes on your 3liter diesels, what has been your experience with the sound?

I have an E90 with the N57 engine and it made little to no difference in terms of sound, I even removed the silencer closest to the DP in order to give it a little more sound. I'm lead to believe the F15 has 4 turbos, I'm not sure what the sound difference would be with DP. My neighbour has the F15 M50d and his sounds pretty much the same as mine did prior to my DP and silencer delete.

I have a F15 3.0d. Did exactly what you want want to, down pipe and removed the cat. The sound is much more aggressive and sounds like a proper 3.0 l vehicle. There is no major sound difference inside the vehicle when cruising.

Any chance of a clip to hear how it sounds? What about the smell?
