E46 320D pre facelift high pressure fuel pump

My son has a problem. Probably not new, but new to his pocket. The high pressure diesel pump went bang and he's faced with bills probably worth more than the car if he can't find a replacement 2nd hand item. part no. 13517787562. Apparently they are very, very scarce. The impeller blades are damaged. :blueCry::blueCry:Is there anybody out there who might have one ? He does not know whether he'll be lucky to find one or should sell it as scrap. Either way he can't afford the replacement. Anybody's help would be appreciated. Wish i could help. I only have Face-lift HPDPs

The pre-facelift HPDP is common failing part and yes, VERY difficult to find a second hand one some times.

I called a contact of mine in Kuilsriver in cape town, he has one for R7500. If you cape town based, he can install for R2500.

you can ring him up on 083 248 7647. His name is Fritz.
