ZA Northwest 530Mle now in Germany

Hey Adi. Unfortunately that car is in a bit of a state now. The car is actually in Holland. The car is onto it's third owner since leaving SA, and apparently the recent photos are the result of the current owner not having the funds to complete the job. I believe the car is currently on the market, but no one wants to touch it as the engine is not the original one. It's truly sad, and it's future is completely uncertain. I have asked our good friend in Germany to keep tabs on it's future, as if it is destined to be sold off in bits, there's a few goodies I want to get. There was so much promise for that car when it left SA.

How did it ever end up there? :nonono::thumbdo:

One can understand if a true enthusiast restorer had the goal of giving it a new leash on life - but if it ended up in bits 'n pieces, come on! :yuck:

What a special piece of machinery to have ended up like that. My dad handed down his E12 to me in 1991 and I still wish I kept that car!

Anyway, hope by some miracle that the MLE finds the hands of a good home who understands its real rarity.

The car is overseas illigal as well, cause on the enatis it still shows that its here in SA, its licence expired in 2004, and no paperwork was done to export it, well, nothing on the enatis.
That might also be one of the reasons why they cant fix it up??
its a 1976 530i, and the engine replacement was done in 2003.

Interesting.......
So curious now, so they just shipped it.......so this one will not likely be back without a administrative nightmare!
