Z4 M-coupe vs E46 M3

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum and i am considering getting either one of the subject mentioned vehicles. The engines are absolutely amazing and I need a car that will give me the "thrill" of driving.

Please could you guys give me some advice as to which is more of a purists car i.e. The sound is raw, the drive is pure and powerful, the handling is not too refined etc

Reason i ask, some Z4 M-coupe's are going for nearly the same price as some high end E46 M3's on offer.

Both are great cars, but I'd have to say that relatively speaking the z4m is more of the purist's car and the M3 more of the practical man's car.

z4m is loaded with M3 csl parts, which is another thumbs up.

Haha. Poll is 50/50 at the moment.

I went through the similar thought process and I ended up with a Z3MCoupe.

My feeling was that the E46 M3 looks too much like the common E46. While the MCoupe is a unique and rarer car. It has more of a sports car feel just from the seating position. I have never driven a Z4 but I have heard the ride is rather harsh. That can put you off a car.

Go test drive and decide.

I have driven both and owned a Z4MC and will be looking for another one again once a wedding I am involved in is over :YesNo:

If you do not need the back seats I would say the Z4M is a much more fun car to drive and also if you do not mind a slightly harder driver then a Z4M is a better car.

Did I mention I will be buying another one :rollsmile:

I have also driven a E92 M3 and wanted one with all my heart for the extra speed and the rear seats but then said to myself it will never feel the same as the Z4 does around a corner or even on a straight line...my 2c
