Hi

Anyone ever replaced shocks??? Apparently the rears are the same as e30 and the fronts are the same as e36. I know the lower control arms are the same as e36 but what about the shocks?

Anyone?

Thanks for the that info bro and managed to get front shocks from Tonnesson Midas Fitment Centre for R1'096 a piece (Monroe's) and rears for R750 a piece. Add R900 for fitment all-round including alignment. Not bad ey?

PS: Have a set of Vogtland springs for sale, 60mm drop +60 pounds increased strength per corner. More for racing use than street. I think retail is around US$500.00. Used for 2 months, open to offers.

Im not sure, but that sounds really expensive for e36 shocks? I think when I replaced mine it was about R1500 allround, including fitment. They were gabriel shocks though, and that was a while back.

Thanks bro. Apparently there is a price difference but they could be lying then. They reckon the E36 shock fits but the rod height of the shock is shorter on the Z3. They say some guys fit E36 shocks only to find that the rod height is longer and the shocks bottoms out much easier

That's what they told me, not sure how true it is but did check realoem for a comparison. According to BMW catalogue, Z3 shock part number differs from E36 BMW.
