Yay... Another First..... GT5 vs Forza 3

Ola all you Fanatics... Im so glad that we have a gaming and a Tech section now.

Seeing as this is a BMW Fanatics Forum, Id like to start Discussing Car Games.


Ive played both Grand Turismo 5(PS3) and Forza Motorsport 3(Xbox 360). Both Awesome games.


Sony / Polyphony had been promoting GT5 for quite a while now, marketing their insane graphics and 1000 car line up. I am honestly not very impressed with this game. there are only a few premium cars that have some seriously awesome looking bodies, whilst the others look like GT4 versions of the cars.

Forza 3 on the other hand looks slick. The cars all look good, and the gameplay is awesome.

Verdict (my opinion) - Forza 3 kills GT5. Now I cant wait for Forza 4.

I agree that GT5 is lacking with some options and the premuim car vs standard cars list... however technically interms of graphics and driving dynamics... GT5 definately superior! (my opinion)

i agree based on the customisation of cars or forza 3. Gt5 really suffers in this regard not with engine customisation but with regards to styling it really is poor.

I haven't played Forza 3 intensively so can't comment.. Mind you neither have I GT5, but I do have it, and here are some of my peeves

GT5 Peeves:
- Engine sounds are crap..lets face it.
- Shadow's are pixellated
- No damage.... sucks

And being a EX-Foza player and must admit that Forza has more in terms of how the cars looks and feels.

GT5 has the market in the shear number of tracks and weather effects, also the amount of different race types on offer.

The two games should mate and birth the BEST racing game ever!!!!!!

Lol i agree with a kid from both of them... would be awesum....
in GT, some cars sound great and others not.. but dynamically its still superior.

Dusted off my NFS: Shift the other day along with the steering peripheral and I gotta say, that game is one of the better arcade/simulators around (good balance).

Needless to say I'm driving the M3 on the game. Beats the majority of cars on the game (aside from the real A class super cars) mainly because of it's drive-ability. A lot of games shaft you for heavy modding but the BM just glides around the track. Motivated me to buy NFS: Shift 2 which I'm hoping is also up there.

I agree though, GT5 is lacking big time even though they secured quite a decent list of cars.

The gaming, tech, fire section and book club are great additions to the forum. We did not want to add it under the off topic forum. It must stand alone.

Because, the new additions will enhance the branding of "fanatics" but it is also part of phase three which will commence by month end.

The idea is too feature car games in particular and the first feature will run in a new thread as soon as we get around to it. We also intend for a moderator to be responsible for the general forum but also be dedicated to a subforum such as the car forum to keep us updated on the latest car gaming out there.

Seasonal events and B-spec (after you've collected all the decent cars by playing A-spec)

PS3. I have played GT5 up to level 30. Have driven the Redbull car and that is awesome although a bit over the top.
Then i started playing NFS Shift2 and in my opinion, it is a much better game. Graffics not as good as GT5, but the sound of the cars, especially the Corvette C6 in works configuration, is out of this world. And then the Audi TT with full works conversion, man, that thing goes like stink.
Have tried the BMW's of course, but not as nice to play as the four wheel drive cars (Scoobys, Mitsubishi, Audi, etc)
Forza 3 is also one of my favourite games and also Grid.
Lately my Shift2 game freezes up after about 10 minutes, especially with the C6 Corvette's rumbling engine - think it has something to do with the game freezing.

something i personally cant wait for Nissan 2012 GTR gonna be insane, in my IMHO i still think forza got nothing on this game everytime there is a update the game is 100 times better this is coming from someone that owns both games if you not connected online then gt will get boring but these updates always keep them one step ahead on all racing games
