XCOM: Enemy Unknown

I am really enjoying XCOM. I already started a new game as the first one didn't go so well. That said, XCOM is really buggy.

When I started a new game the first time it crashed. Updated everything and it made no difference. After some googling I found that someone had other crashing issues, but he renamed the movies folder and the game worked after that. So I renamed the Movies folder and could start a new game. Then I saved, quite to Desktop, renamed the movies folder back, and loaded the saved game and could continue playing.

But when I wanted to start another new game and turned off the Tutorial, the screen would freeze. I can hear sounds when I press ESC or click randomly, but that's it. Had to start a new game with the tutorial on 'cos it won't work without it.

That said I'm hooked on the game. It's been a while since I've been hooked on any game.

Graphics could be better, but I like the gameplay! :thumbs:

I'm not to bothered about the graphics in a game... partly because my old PC can run these games, but mostly 'cos it's about the game play for me. For example, Red Alert 2 and StarCraft 1 is still 2 of my all time favorite games which me and friend still play every few months even if the graphics suck.

I must say though that XCOM made me think about Jagged alliance. Who remembers that?
