Hi,

So it's been recommended that I get one of these to fit to the 330d?

Does anyone know what model number it is so I can have a look? I'm guessing its from a facelift E53?

Sorry but my brain is going to explode with all the googling and ebaying I've been doing.

Thanks

As far as i know the twin scroll turbos are fitted to the petrol models, re the x16i, x18i, etc. It is one turbo with two small inlets with vanes, is how i understand it. Quick spool up and less lag.

ReaOEM only lists 3.5d in the pre-LCI E70 and only in the USA.

And only shows 4.0d in the LCI E70... dafuq?

Is this turbo electronically actuated?

Yea, they changed it, probably some bits on the motor as well.

Yep turbo is electronically actuated, they stopped doing the vacuum thing just before the pre-lci e60's...

So what controls the electronic actuator of the turbo? Is it on the turbo itself or is it the cars ECU?

35d was the pre lci. The 30d was carried on into the lci and the 35d was replaced by the 40d. 8 speed box works wonders on the lci. Lci 30d can easily keep up with the 35d.

Too big a mod going from vacuum to electric turbo. Even if it wasn't you would have to change the exhaust manifold to benefit from that turbo.

If anything you could use that exhaust manifold and it would improve the efficiency of your current turbo. But that is just speculating from my side.

Are there no vacuum operated twin scroll turbos ?

On further research the N55 is vacuum actuated. Cant find anything on the diesels. The googling must continue.

Dude just get the E90 pre lci turbo and manifold which bolts onto the E46

Are you sure about that? I thought they were electronically actuated?

A twin scroll would be nice though :fencelook:

Lci E90 is electronic, the pre lci E90 is vaccum actuated from what I understand

More googling says its electronic.

E90 prelci 330d turbo part number is: 11657796312

Ebay page says it has an electronic actuator LINK

Maybe I should just stick to a GT2260V.

All E90's have electric actuated turbos.

GT2260v FTW. I wouldn't bother with anything else.
